From 1985 to 1988 he was an assistant municipal attorney for the Municipality of Anchorage. He was a member of the special committee of the Alaska Bar advising the Alaska Supreme Court on Rule 72 governing eminent domain actions. He is presently the commercial attorney member of the Board of Directors of the Anchorage Community Development Authority. Mr. Baird has extensive litigation experience in the Alaska Supreme, Superior, and District Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Alaska, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. His judge and jury trials have involved business and commercial disputes, commercial debt and loan enforcement, contract interpretation, real estate issues, and eminent domain. He has handled over 125 eminent domain matters often obtaining favorable settlements without litigation.
