Alaska Real Estate, Business, and Municipal Law Attorney

Ronald L. Baird has been a lawyer in Anchorage, Alaska since 1978 and has been a solo practitioner since 1994. From 1985 to 1988 he was an assistant municipal attorney for the Municipality of Anchorage. He was a member of the special committee of the Alaska Bar advising the Alaska Supreme Court on Rule 72 governing eminent domain actions. He was formerly the chair of the Board of Directors of the Anchorage Community Development Authority.

Representation in Transactions and Litigation

Mr. Baird's experience in transactions and legal documentation include organization of for-profit and non-profit corporations and limited liability companies; sales of business assets; debtor/creditor instruments including promissory notes, security agreements and debt guarantees; real estate transactions including purchase and sale agreements, subdivision agreements, deeds of trust, easements, subdivision covenants, and platting actions.

Mr. Baird has extensive litigation experience in the Alaska Supreme, Superior, and District Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Alaska, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. His judge and jury trials have involved business and commercial disputes, commercial debt and loan enforcement, contract interpretation, real estate issues, and eminent domain. He has handled over 170 eminent domain matters often obtaining favorable settlements without litigation. He also represents clients in alternative dispute resolution such as arbitration and mediation.
